Why am I "Paper.Glass.Stitch."?
People often ask me why my blog is called "Paper Glass Stitch", when I am a paper-crafter/Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator.... well, I don't just play with paper, I am also a stained glass artist and I also dabble with crochet and hand stitched small fabric and felt items too... I crochet mainly for myself, for fun and for respite/relaxation away from other crafting, when I have perhaps lost my paper-crafting mojo, or, just fancy a change, or even if am on a rather long and boring train journey!!
Here are a few photographs of some of my glass items which were exhibited recently in my local museum/tourist information centre shop:
As you can see, I like to make all sorts of glass items, decorative as well as useful, and I utilise several different glass-making techniques: copper-foiling, lead-working and fusing.
The following two photographs show the entire cabinet that housed my display of glass: The first image shows the front view and the second shows the back view. I think the second image shows the glass colours off much better, as there is a huge window beyond it which shined natural light through the cabinet and there is also less glare from the cabinet spotlights and other nearby electric lighting... Taking photographs of shiny, reflective glass is SO difficult at times - especially when it is being displayed in/on yet more shiny, reflective glass in a well-lit cabinet, ooer!!
I do hope that you have liked seeing my glass designs and now have a greater understanding of why Lucy Tustian, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, is also known as Paper.Glass.Stitch.?
COPYRIGHT NOTICE: Please note that all my glass designs are copyright of me, personally, and (unlike my Stampin' Up! crafted items) I ask you to please be nice and refrain from copying any of my glass work designs. Thank you! Lx
